What is discrimination?

Different treatment of persons in the same or comparable situations and lack of objective justification for such treatment.

Forms of discrimination on the labor market:

Discrimination in employment can be achieved by: job advertisements that exclude people without justification; refusal of employment based on a person's membership of a criterion or characteristics irrelevant to the job.

Discrimination in employment can include: unjustified refusal to participate in vocational training; unequal pay for equal work; failure to provide reasonable accommodation; harassment; incitement to discrimination; unfair dismissal.

How can you prove discrimination?

The victim of discrimination must provide evidence of the difference in treatment

What can someone do if they believe they have been discriminated against?

To hold the perpetrator of the discrimination liable; To claim damages in court; To annul the administrative act.

Measures to ensure equal opportunities on the labor market

Equal treatment of jobseekers; access to consultation of labor market supply and demand; confidentiality on race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation; preventing and combating mobbing and bullying.
